Why did you decide to become a Realtor?
After being in the printing sales business for 42 years, I wanted to experience the challenge of starting a new career. The language is different, but the sales process is the same in that you can help people with one of the most important decisions they will make in their lifetime, which is buying a house. Secondly, my wife did not want me to sit around the house all day bugging her. She strongly suggested I needed to get out of the house (ha). To me, this is an opportunity to help guide people through the complicated process of that first purchase and it is my goal to provide a smooth, easy learning experience for them.
What types of approaches will you use to sell my home and/or find me a home?
I use a determined and measured approach that starts with building and leveraging relationships in the Spartanburg/Greenville community, but one that also utilizes technology in ALL aspects of marketing and communication. Our platforms, as well as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, are all utilized to offer the best ways to get the job done for both buyer and seller. Simply talking with people goes a long way toward success, too.
How will you keep me informed?
While this could be considered a little old-fashioned, I prefer to communicate by phone or personal note. However, I am also able to up my communications game for the millennials, using texts, monthly emails, and our lead reports. Here, I think the company’s motto is relevant: “Whatever it takes, before, during and after the sale or purchase.”
Describe a typical day as a Realtor?
In any organization, if you are not moving forward, then you are not going to be successful. So with that thought in mind, a typical day involves prospecting, marketing, volunteering to work in the community (I’m active on the YMCA’s local board acting as chair for 2018 and chair-elect on the YMCA Area Association Board for 2019), following up on inspection reports, volunteering in my church, coaching a youth basketball team, hitting the YMCA for a workout to stay healthy, and finally, assisting my fellow brokers with business ads and marketing.
